Bernhard Franzelin
Bernhard Franzelin (born April 4, 1868 in Auer (South Tyrol) ; † October 22, 1943 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian Jesuit and theologian.
Franzelin entered the novitiate of the Societas Jesu around 1890 . His first stations in his religious life were St. Andrä / Lavanttal in Carinthia and Pressburg . He then studied at the University of Innsbruck and was able to successfully complete this course in 1908 with a doctorate .
The order then sent Franzelin to the Clementinum in Prague as a lecturer in rhetoric . There he also worked as a preacher. After his return to Innsbruck he was entrusted with a teaching position as an associate professor for dogmatics. Later he accepted a position at the Gregoriana in Rome and taught there a. a. Philosophy.
After his return to Innsbruck he worked there again at the university; from 1924 as professor of scholasticism. During this time he was also a regular contributor to the journal Der Christian Ständestaat .
