Live and act

Härtter studied from 1981 to 1988 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe as a master student with Peter Dreher .

Glücksrampe (1987), art in architecture , sculpture at the shopping center (EKZ) in Freiburg-Weingarten , removed in August 2019

At his first major solo exhibition in 1991 in the Portikus exhibition hall in Frankfurt , Härtter showed an installation that consisted of countless individual images aligned horizontally and vertically. The white hard fiber boards with a uniform size of 11 × 11 cm showed rotational shapes made with thin lacquer paint, in which the color circles were each represented differently and thus in an infinite range of variation. Each individual board was attached to the wall on a small plinth cut from a triangular strip. During the installation , attention was drawn to the individual, each different parts, to the principle of order used, as well as to the resulting large, wall-filling form.

At the opening exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt am Main in 1991, Härtter showed three three-dimensional objects created in 1989: a solid model house , a model highway loop and a model teapot and two cups . They consisted of painted pressboard, plasterboard and aluminum and had a format of up to 100 × 80 × 60 cm.

Härtter lives and works in Freiburg im Breisgau .
