Bernhard Höfel

Bernhard Höfel (born September 18, 1862 in Innsbruck ; † January 21, 1943 there ) was an Austrian jeweler and patron .

Life

Bernhard Höfel, son of the jeweler and collector Josef Höfel, who was born in Bregenz on October 23, 1823 , worked for many years on the administrative committee of the Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum , especially in the arts and crafts committee. He bequeathed the art collections set up by his father and enlarged by him with great understanding , consisting of over a hundred paintings , important holdings of handicrafts and a rich bibliography , to the city of Innsbruck and the Ferdinandeum Museum.
