Bernhard Rösler

Bernhard Rösler (born June 9, 1906 , † December 2, 1973 in a traffic accident ) was a German entrepreneur of Rösler Draht AG in Schwalmtal on the Lower Rhine (founded in Essen in 1872 ). He was last married to Joyce Rösler, they had no offspring together. On November 3, 1972, he was granted honorary citizenship by the municipal council of the Schwalmtal municipality based on a resolution at the meeting of September 27, 1972 .

The Rösler settlement, which was built for the employees of the wire factory from 1934, is named after the company. A gym and a stadium in the Schwalmtal district of Amern also bear the name Rösler . He was honorary chairman of the sports club VSF Amern 1910 eV Bernhard-Rösler-Straße in Schwalmtal is named after him.

Until his death he was a member of the Düsseldorf Advisory Board of Deutsche Bank AG . The Bernhard Rösler Foundation bears his name. It supports needy employees of Rösler Draht AG, promotes the local preservation of monuments, nature conservation and the education of talented and financially needy children.

In 1959 he donated the bell III to the church of St. Anton in Amern . The bell was cast by Hans Hüesker from Petit & Gebr. Edelbrock in Gescher in Westphalia. The description of the inscription on the cast bronze bell reads:

The Rösler Draht AG was taken over by the Belgian Bekaert AG in 1994 . In the early 1990s it had around 700 employees; in 2000 there were around 200 employees. At the end of 2009 , 80 of the remaining 125 employees were laid off.
