Bertram Maurer

Bertram Maurer (* 1950 in Malsch near Karlsruhe ) is a German specialist book author .

Life

Maurer's degree in mathematics and since the early 1970s at night school and at the Kolping College in Stuttgart as a teacher worked. He also studied the history of science and technology and German in Stuttgart and received his doctorate in 1997 with a thesis on Karl Culmann as a Dr.-Ing.

In 1998 he published "Karl Culmann und die graphische Statik", the first biography of the engineer and professor at the ETH Zurich . It also contains Culmann's travel reports about his trips to America and England in 1850 , which were previously only accessible in manuscripts .

Maurer is married to the writer Christine Lehmann .
