Bertrand Renaudin

Bertrand Renaudin (born April 23, 1955 in Nantes ) is a French drummer and composer of modern jazz .

Live and act

Renaudin studied classical percussion at the conservatory in his hometown , and then from 1971 to attend the drum school of Dante Agostini and Kenny Clarke (diploma 1976). He then went back to Nantes, where he founded a music school and published his own method of playing drums; he also worked as a studio musician . In 1988 he successfully took part in the La Défense competition with his own quartet . With Jean-Jacques Avenel and Richard Galliano he was part of the quartet of Steve Potts ( Pearls , 1990) from 1988 to 1991 ; in addition, he founded the percussion ensemble Confrèrie des caisses and directed the Nantes Open Jazz Compagnie . In the next few years he also played in a trio with François Jeanneau and Jean-Paul Céléa ( Rencontre , 1991) as well as with Serge Lazarevitch and Philippe Aerts . Between 1997 and 1999 he was a member of Jean-Charles Capon's quartet .

Since 1992 Renaudin has also played solo concerts. In addition to his combos, he also plays with his large-format Zoomtop Orchestra . He toured several times through Africa and the Orient.
