Yves Rousseau

Yves Rousseau (* 31 January 1961 ) is a French jazz - bassist and composer .

Rousseau, influenced by Pierre Michelot and Patrice Caratini , studied double bass from 1982 to 1987 with Jacques Cazauran at the CNR in Versailles; The first recordings were made in 1988 with Senem Diyici and in 1989 with Okay Temiz . After he belonged to the Franco-German jazz ensemble in 1984 (at that time led by Albert Mangelsdorff and Jean-François Jenny-Clark ) he led this ensemble from 1990 to 1993 with Mangelsdorff. He then played with Franck Tortiller and Pierre Tiboum Guigno in the Trio a Boum , from which a trio with Tortiller and Patrick Vignon developed ( Les Jours De Fête: Hommage à Jacques Tati , 1994). In the 1990s he also worked in the formations of Sylvain Kassap , Alain Blesing , Jacques Mahieux , Jean-Marc Padovani , Bertrand Renaudin , and Jean-Rémy Guédons Archimusic , to which he also belonged for the next decade. In 1999 he founded his quartet with Christophe Marguet , Jean-Marc Larché and Régis Huby ( Fées et Gestes 2000, Sarsara 2004). In 2007 he formed the sextet Poète, vos papier ... , for which he wrote compositions, a homage to Léo Ferré . In the field of jazz he was involved in 17 recording sessions between 1988 and 2006, including with Kudsi Ergüner .

Between 2003 and 2008 he taught jazz bass and ensemble playing at the Conservatory in Metz .
