Betsy Chepkemboi Saina (born June 30, 1988 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

Saina began her running career as a teenager in Eldoret , Kenya . International scouts became aware of her through her performance at the African Junior Championships. She then studied at Iowa State University in Ames , Iowa , and continued to develop her running career. In 2012, she won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meter run at the 2012 African Championships .

She has been a professional athlete since 2013. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she was 5th in the 10,000 meter competition . In 2018 she won the Paris Marathon in 2:22:56 h.
