The Bever is an approximately 10 km long, right-hand or northeastern tributary of the Wupper in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
course
The Bever rises in the Märkischer Kreis west of the core town of Halver or around 870 m south of the Schwenke district between the neighboring Halver hamlets In der Bever in the north and Auf der Bever in the south.
Shortly thereafter, it crosses the border to the Oberbergischer Kreis and at the same time flows into the Bergisches Land nature park , through which it runs to the confluence of the river. It forms part of the border between the towns of Radevormwald and Wipperfürth . After a few kilometers alone in the Radevormwald urban area, the Bever is dammed on the border with Hückeswagen to the Bevertalsperre .
Shortly after the Bevertalsperre , the river flows into the Wupper ( Rhine tributary) flowing from the east-southeast at Hückeswagen- Hartkopsbever , not without being briefly dammed up into the Beverteich .
