Beverlee McKinsey

Beverlee McKinsey (born August 9, 1935 in McAlester , Oklahoma , † May 2, 2008 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Born in August 1935 as Beverlee Magruder, McKinsey studied performing arts at the University of Oklahoma in Norman . She began her acting career in the theater in off-Bradway performances, often alongside James Earl Jones and Doris Belack . She had her first guest role on television in 1964 in the series The Reporter . This was followed by many appearances in television series and soap operas . From 1972 to 1980 she played the Emma Frame Ordway in the Another World series . For this she was nominated four times for the Emmy and received the Soapy Award in 1977 and 1978. She repeated the role of Emma in the spin-off series Texas between 1980 and 1981.

In Germany she is known from the series Springfield Story , where she played Alexandra Spaulding from 1984 to 1992. In 1986, 1991, 1992 and 1993 she received a "Soap Opera Digest Award" nomination for her role.

In 1994 the actress withdrew into private life.

Beverlee McKinsey married Mark McKinsey in 1956, from whom they divorced three years later. From 1971 until his death in 1984 she was married to the actor Berkeley Harris . She last lived in California , very close to her son, Scott McKinsey . This is one of the directors of the Soap General Hospital , on which his mother had a guest appearance in 1994. On May 2, 2008, Beverlee McKinsey died of complications from a kidney transplant.
