Bezerros , officially Portuguese Município de Bezerros , is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Pernambuco . The population became! July 2019 estimated at 60,798 inhabitants, who live on a community area of around 492.6 km² and are called Bezerrenser ( bezerrenses ). The municipality ranks 27th out of 185 municipalities in the state. The distance to the capital Recife is 102 km. The place is known for its Carnival of Bezerros with the symbolic figure of the Papangu and to which the Frevo , registered in the world cultural heritage, is played and danced.

Surrounding communities are Cumaru , Passira , São Joaquim do Monte , Agrestina , Gravatá , Sairé , Camocim de São Félix , Riacho das Almas and Caruaru .
