Bhajani ( Nepali भजनी – त्रिशक्ति ) is a city ( municipality ) in southwestern Nepal in the Kailali district .

history

The city was created on December 2, 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Bhajani , Khailad and Lalbojhi .

As part of the restructuring of the local level and the creation of the Gaunpalikas (rural communities) by amalgamating and abolishing the Village Development Committees on March 10, 2017, the VDC Thapapur was incorporated.

geography

The city is in the Terai . The Mohana River forms the southern border with the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh . The river Kada Khola , a left tributary of the Mohana, flows through the area in a south-southeast direction. Bhajani-Trishakti is located 15 km west of Tikapur .

When it was founded, the urban area covered 142 km². After incorporation in 2017, it grew to 176.25 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Bhajani-Trishakti had 38,149 inhabitants (18,967 of them male) in 6368 households. As a result of the incorporation, the population rose to 51,845.
