Bhrikuti ( Nepali भृकुटी ) is a city ( municipality ) in the central Terai of Nepal in the Kapilbastu district .
Bhrikuti is located northwest of the district capital Kapilavastu on the Mahendra Rajmarg highway . The city of Bhrikuti was created in September 2015 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Barakulapur , Budhi , Hariharpur and Rajpur . The city was named after Bhrikuti , the goddess of the frown. The city administration is located in Budhi. The urban area covers 149.8 km².
