Shivaraj ( Nepali शिवराज Shivaraj ) is a city ( municipality ) in the middle Terai in the Kapilbastu district ( Nepal ).

The city was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Birpur , Bishunpur , Chanai , Jawabhari and Shivapur . The urban area covers 192.6 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Shivaraj had 49,988 inhabitants (24,948 of them male) in 8441 households.
