Location of Biesen in Saxony

Biesen is a district of the municipality Rackwitz in the northern Saxony district of the Free State of Saxony . The place was incorporated into Zschortau on July 1, 1950 and has belonged to Rackwitz since March 1, 2004.

Geographical location

Biesen is located in the northern municipality southeast of Zschortau on the Kreumaer Bach, a tributary of the Lobers .

history

Until 1815 Biesen belonged to the Electoral Saxon office of Delitzsch . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place became part of Prussia and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which it belonged until 1952.

On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Zschortau. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Biesen was assigned as a district of Zschortau to the newly cut Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . On March 1, 2004, the municipality of Zschortau and its districts were incorporated into the municipality of Rackwitz, making Biesen a district of Rackwitz since then.
