William "Bill" Nicholson is a sound engineer .
Life
Kimball began his career in the late 1970s and debuted in Hal Ashby's film satire Welcome Mr. Chance . Within two years he made four films with Burt Reynolds in the lead role. 1981 he was responsible for Raging Bull , together with Donald O. Mitchell , David J. Kimball and Les Lazarowitz for the Oscar in the category Best Sound nominated, but the award went this year to Irvin Kershners science fiction film The Empire Strikes back .
Kimball's main focus was television. He worked on the TV series Cagney & Lacey , chief physician Dr. Westphall , Hill Street Police Station and later Law & Order and Ghost Whisperer - Voices from Beyond . He also worked on some television films in the Perry Mason series . For his achievements, he was nominated for 22 Emmys between 1982 and 2001 , eight times for Hill Street Police Station and four times for Law & Order . He could win five awards.
His last job in the film and television business was in 2009, an episode of the Lie to Me series .
