In total, he won three championships in the National League with the Cubs. In 1932 and 1938 the team from Chicago failed each in four games at the New York Yankees in the World Series . In 1935 they had to admit defeat to the Detroit Tigers in six games.
In 1941 the Cubs transferred him to the Brooklyn Dodgers . This year Herman celebrated his fourth championship title in the NL. In the World Series there was a local derby against the Yankees, who were able to keep the upper hand in four games.
