Birgit Ryan (born February 25, 1976 ) is a former Faroese soccer player .

Career

Ryan played for KÍ Klaksvík from a young age . She made her debut in 1992 on the first day of the first division in the home game against ÍF Fuglafjørður , which went 2-2. Ryan was substituted on during the game. The first goal she managed in the 8-0 away win against SÍ Sumba on the twelfth matchday, where she met the final score. In 1996 Ryan was in the cup final for the first time , which was lost 3-1 to HB Tórshavn . In the following year HB Tórshavn was able to keep the upper hand with a 5-1, but Ryan won the first championship with KÍ Klaksvík alongside players such as Rannvá Biskopstø Andreasen , Malena Josephsen , Annelisa Justesen and Ragna Biskopstø Patawary . In 1999 the opponent in the cup final was again HB Tórshavn, this time KÍ lost 3: 4 after extra time. After a one-year hiatus, Ryan only played one game in the first division in 2001 and was thus back to the championship team. After three more years in which she did not play, Ryan returned in 2005 for the last time as a regular player and was able to win her third championship. The last two titles included Bára S. Klakstein and Randi S. Wardum . Overall, Ryan came to 87 first division games in the club. Appearances in the national team of the Faroe Islands were denied.
