The legend of the Krönlein snake

The Krönlein-snake (the school mascot ) refers to an old Lechhauser Forecast: Early grew in the meadows of Birch Au a dense lowland forest , where many grass snakes had their nests. The old Lechhausen residents say: One of these vipers always carried a crown. She lived under a well in the forest and was the snake queen. She protected the Birkenau children from harm and sometimes even granted their wishes. Today the alluvial forest in the Birkenau is almost cleared and the Krönlein snake has not been seen there for a long time. But the Birkenau children still remember them: At their school they have a fountain made of shell limestone, on which the Krönlein snake curls itself, which is supposed to protect everyone who passes by it. Maybe it fulfills one or the other wish of the viewer.
