Bis (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate is a chemical compound from the group of HALS ( English hindered amine light stabilizer ) known as UV-stabilizer is used, where they under the trade name Tinuvin 770 known is. Tinuvin 770 is added to PP , EPDM , PS , ABS , SAN , ASA and polyurethanes . In contrast to UV absorbers, the efficiency is independent of the layer thickness.
Mode of action
The light stabilizer bis (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate acts as a so-called radical scavenger , which interrupts radical chain reactions initiated by light , which lead to the degradation of the polymers.
