The Bistum Barisal ( lat. : Dioecesis Barisalensis ) is an in Bangladesh preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Barishal .

history

The Diocese of Barisal was established on December 29, 2015 by Pope Francis from cession of territory from the Diocese of Chittagong and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Dhaka as a suffragan . First Bishop was Lawrence Subrata Howlader CSC .

On February 2, 2017, it was subordinated to the new Archdiocese of Chittagong as a suffragan.
