Lawrence Subrata Howlader
Lawrence Subrata Howlader CSC (born September 11, 1965 in Noborgram ) is a Bangladeshi clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Barisal .
Life
Lawrence Subrata Howlader joined the religious order of the Congregation of Holy Cross at and received on 31 December 1994, the priestly ordination .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on May 7, 2009 auxiliary bishop in Chittagong and titular bishop of Afufenia . The Bishop of Chittagong, Patrick D'Rozario CSC, donated him episcopal ordination on July 3 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Paulinus Costa , Archbishop of Dhaka , and Joseph Salvador Marino , Apostolic Nuncio in Bangladesh .
On December 29, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him the first bishop of the diocese of Barisal, which was established on the same date .
