The bishopric of Boulogne is a former bishopric in France .

It goes back to the since the 6th century existing bishopric in Thérouanne . This was lifted in 1537 after Charles V had devastated Thérouanne and made it uninhabitable. In 1567 the bishopric was divided into the dioceses of Boulogne, which continued the list of bishops of Thérouanne and, like Thérouanne, was on the French side of the imperial border; as well as the diocese of Saint-Omer for the French-speaking and the diocese of Ypres for the Dutch- speaking residents of Flanders in the Spanish Netherlands .

With the Concordat of 1801 , the bishopric of Boulogne was dissolved; the diocese went up in the diocese of Arras .

The diocese belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Reims .

The original diocese of Thérouanne was re-established as the titular diocese of Thérouanne in 2009 and was given to a titular bishop for the first time in 2019.
