The Diocese of Bridgetown ( Latin : Dioecesis Pontipolitana ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Bridgetown in Barbados . It includes the island of Barbados.

history

Pope Paul VI founded on March 7, 1970 the Diocese of Bridgetown-Kingstown from cession of territory of the Diocese of Saint George's in Grenada and subordinated it to the Archdiocese of Port of Spain as a suffragan .

On October 23, 1989, the diocese was divided into the Diocese of Bridgetown and the Diocese of Kingstown .
