The Diocese of Digos ( Latin : Dioecesis Digosensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese located in the south of Mindanao Island in the Philippines , with its seat in Digos City . It includes the Philippine province of Davao del Sur .
history
Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Sacer praesul Ecclesiae on November 5, 1979 from cession of territory from the Archdiocese of Davao , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.
