history
The diocese of Dindigul was established on December 10, 2003 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Petitum est nuper from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Madurai and the Diocese of Tiruchirappalli and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Madurai as a suffragan . First Bishop was Antony Pappusamy .
