The Diocese of Dundee ( Latin Dioecesis Dundeensis , English Diocese of Dundee ) is a in South Africa situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Dundee .

history

The diocese of Dundee was on June 23, 1958 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Durban and the Dioceses of Bremersdorp and Lydenburg as the Apostolic Prefecture of Volksrust .

The Apostolic Prefecture Volksrust was raised to a diocese on November 19, 1982 by Pope John Paul II and renamed the Diocese of Dundee . The Diocese of Dundee was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Durban as a suffragan .
