history

The diocese of Gulbarga was on June 24, 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Cum petitum esset from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad and the dioceses of Belgaum and Bellary . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bangalore as a suffragan . First Bishop was Robert Michael Miranda .
