The diocese Jequié ( Latin Dioecesis Iequieana , Portuguese Diocese de Jequié ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Jequié in the state of Bahia .

history

The Diocese of Jequié was established on November 7, 1978 by Pope John Paul II from ceding territories from the Dioceses of Vitória da Conquista and Amargosa and subordinated to the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia as a suffragan . First Bishop was Cristian Jakob Krapf .

On January 15, 2002, the Diocese of Jequié was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Vitória da Conquista as a suffragan.
