The Diocese of Jhansi ( lat. : Dioecesis Ihansiensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Jhansi .

history

The diocese Jhansi was on January 12, 1940 by Pope Pius XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad evangelicam veritatem from cession of territory by the diocese of Allahabad as the Apostolic Prefecture of Jhansi .

On July 5, 1954, the Apostolic Prefecture Jhansi was by Pius XII. With the Apostolic Constitution in Apostolica Praefectura raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Agra as a suffragan . The diocese of Jhansi gave up on February 9, 1999 parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Gwalior .
