The Bistum Jinja ( lat. : Dioecesis Gingianus ) is in Uganda preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Jinja .

history

Pope Pius XII founded the Apostolic Vicariate Kampala with the Apostolic Constitution Curas Nostras on June 10, 1948 from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Obernil .

On March 25, 1953, it was elevated to a diocese. It took its current name on August 5, 1966.
