The Diocese of Laohekou ( latin : Dioecesis Laohocheuvensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic diocese based in Laohekou .

history

The diocese of Laohekou was established on September 2, 1870 as a result of the division of the Apostolic Vicariate Hubei into the Apostolic Vicariates Northwest Hubei , Southwest Hubei and East Hubei. The Apostolic Vicariate Northwest Hubei was renamed on December 3, 1924 in Apostolic Vicariate Laohekou . On May 25, 1936, the Vicariate Apostolic Laohekou gave parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Xiangyang .

The Apostolic Vicariate Laohekou was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Hankow as a suffragan .
