history
The diocese of Rafaela was founded on April 10, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. with the Papal Bull Cum venerabilis from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe and the Diocese of Reconquista . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz as a suffragan .
