The Shuozhou diocese ( lat . : Dioecesis Scioceuvensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Shuozhou in the People's Republic of China .

history

Pope Pius XI founded with the Breve Cum Nobis the Apostolic Prefecture Shohchow on July 12, 1926 from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Taiyüanfu . On June 17, 1932, she was raised to the rank of Vicariate Apostolic .

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946.

On July 8, 1990, the official Bishop Bonaventure Luo Juan was consecrated. On February 8, 2004, the eighty-year-old bishop consecrated Auxiliary Bishop Paul Ma Cun-guo without the approval of the Chinese authorities . This happened in the absence of two co-consecrators that for a valid ordination by canon law are necessary. Monsignor Juan Luo died on March 15, 2007.
