The Bistum Sunyani ( lat. : Dioecesis Sunyaniensis ) is an in Ghana preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Sunyani . It includes the northern districts of the Bono Region : Sunyani, Berekum, Dormaa, Tain, Jaman South, Jaman North and Wenchi.

history

Pope Paul VI founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Africa tellus on July 6, 1992 from cession of territory by the diocese of Kumasi and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cape Coast as a suffragan diocese. On January 17, 2002, it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Kumasi as a suffragan.

It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:
