The Roman Catholic Diocese of Tuticorin ( Latin Dioecesis Tuticorensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Tuticorin .

The diocese was on June 12, 1923 with the papal Breve Quae catholico nomini by Pope Pius XI. Erected from cessions of territory by the Diocese of Tiruchirapalli . Today it is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Madurai as a suffragan and has about 340,000 believers in 104 parishes.

With Francis Tiburtius Roche in the diocese of Tuticorin, a native Catholic was appointed bishop in a mission country for the first time. He was followed by Bishops Thomas Fernando (1953–1970), Ambrose Mathalaimuthu (1971–1979), Siluvaimathu Teresanathan Amalnather (1980–1999), Peter Fernando (1999–2003), Yvon Ambroise (2005–2019) and Stephen Antony Pillai ( since 2019).
