The Bistum Wiawso ( lat. : Dioecesis Viavsensis ) is an in Ghana preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Wiawso .

history

The Diocese of Wiawso was established on December 22, 1999 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ad efficacius from cession of territory from the Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cape Coast as a suffragan . The first bishop was Joseph Kweku Essien .
