The Diocese of Wonju ( lat. : Dioecesis Voniuensis , kor. : 천주교 원주 교구 ) is in South Korea location Roman Catholic diocese based in Wonju .

history

The diocese of Wonju was on March 22, 1965 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Fidei propagandae from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Chuncheon and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Seoul as a suffragan . On May 29, 1969, the Wonju diocese gave parts of its territory to establish the Andong diocese .
