Bjørnar Andresen

Bjørnar Andresen ( April 1, 1945 - October 2, 2004 ) was a Norwegian jazz musician (bass, guitar, banjo).

Live and act

Andresen founded the free jazz formation Finnerud Trio with pianist Svein Finnerud , which existed from 1967 to 1974 and was inspired by the music of Paul Blei , Kent Carter and George Russell's jazz theories. With Terje Rypdal and Espen Rud he recorded the album Min bul in 1970 . From the 1980s he worked with Nils Økland . Shortly before Finnerud's death, the trio album Egne Hoder was created in 1999 .

This was followed by band projects with Jon Eberson and Paal Nilssen-Love ( Mind the Gap 2004), with Jon Klette's formation Jazzmob ( Pathfinder 2003). In the early 2000s he played with Thomas Strønen and Vidar Johansen in the Trio Bayashi ; with Bugge Wesseltoft and Paal Nilssen-Love in the Trio Samsa'ra ; he also worked with Jon Eberson, Terje Rypdal and Espen Rud . In memory of him, the Crimetime Orchestra recorded the album Life Is a Beautiful Monster three weeks after his death . a. Jon Klette and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten also took part.
