Bjarne Rostvold
Bjarne Rostvold (born August 18, 1934 in Gentofte ; † July 12, 1989 ) was a Danish drummer and percussionist who was mainly active in the jazz field .
Live and act
Rostvold began his career at the age of 19 with Ib Glindemann and then played with Jørn Grauengaard . From 1961 he made recordings with his own trio (with Bent Axen and Erik Moseholm ), which he also expanded into a quartet with Allan Botschinsky . Between 1965 and 1978 he belonged to the Danish Radios Jazz Group , and since the 1970s also to the Finn Savery trio . He also performed with Stan Kenton ( Stan Kenton with the Danish Radio Big Band ), Pedro Biker ( Evergreens in Danish Design ), Clark Terry , Ben Webster , Svend Asmussen , Stuff Smith ( Hot Violin ), Jørgen Ingmann , Bent Jædig , Jens Søndergaard and Phineas Newborn .
As a studio musician, he recorded the 1969 album Dragonfly with the Strawbs . Tom Lord has recorded 132 Rostvold recordings in his Jazz Discography since 1958.
