The Bléone is a river in France that runs in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region . It rises in the French Maritime Alps , in the Massif des Trois-Évêchés , in the municipality of Prads-Haute-Bléone . The Bléone generally drains in a south-westerly direction and flows into the Durance as a left tributary after around 70 kilometers in the municipality of Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban .
Shortly before the Bléone flows into the Durance, the river is dammed at the Malijai dam. A large part of the water is diverted into the Canal d'Oraison , which crosses the Bléone with a canal bridge. The canal carries the water to the large Électricité de France power stations in the Durance valley.
