The Massif des Three Bishoprics ( Occitan : Massís dei Tres Eveschats , German : "massif of the three dioceses") is a mountain massif in the southern French Provencal Alps in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d ' Azure . Its name is derived from the 2818 meter high Trois-Évêchés summit , which is considered the central topographical point in this massif. The highest point, however, is the Tête de l'Estrop , a mountain at 2961  m , a name given in Occitan .

The extensive mountain range extends from north to south between the valleys of the rivers Bès in the west, Ubaye in the north, Verdon in the east and Asse (roughly) in the south. It is bounded in the north by the Massif du Parpaillon , in the east by the Massif du Pelat , in the southeast by the Alpine foothills of Castellane and in the south and west by the foothills of the Alpine foothills of Digne . The Bléone River rises at the foot of the Tête de l'Estrop and Trois-Évêchés peaks. As a tributary of the Ubaye, the Grand Riou de la Blanche also runs in this mountain range.

On March 24, 2015 Airbus A320 crashed on the flight 9525 the German Wings in Prads-Haute-Bléone from. All 144 passengers and 6 crew members were killed.
