The Blackberry Priv is the first Android smartphone from Blackberry . It has a hardware keyboard that can be extended and came onto the market at the end of 2015.

There are different versions in terms of details, the STV100-1 for the USA and Great Britain with QWERTY keyboard layout , the STV100-4 with QWERTZ for Europe and that with AZERTY for the French language .
keyboard
The most striking feature is the hardware keyboard with 26 letters, €, twice ⇑ (Shift), Alt , ⇦ ( backspace ), ↵ ( Enter ), sym, ↓. Since the keyboard is touch-sensitive, it can be used as a touchpad for scrolling, similar to the Blackberry Passport . When the keyboard is retracted, an on-screen keyboard common for touchscreen devices is displayed.

BlackBerry launched the Priv as the first own Android smartphone with a keyboard. Version 6.0.1 Marshmallow was subsequently updated to all owners. In addition to their own security app ( DTEK ), users can use the Blackberry 10 hub known from the Priv . The app makes it possible to bundle messages from different channels (e-mail, Facebook, Whatsapp) and call them up in a prioritized overview. With these solutions, BlackBerry promises to provide a particularly (tap-) secure system.

The camera technology and the lens are from Schneider-Kreuznach . The aperture is f / 2.2, 18 megapixels in the format 4: 3 and 16 megapixels in the format 1: 1 or 16: 9 are resolved.
Videos are recorded in 4K resolution with 30 or in Full HD with 60 frames per second.
The Blackberry Priv has an optical image stabilization.
load
It is charged via a micro USB cable. With Quick Charge 2.0, the mobile phone can be charged by 60% within half an hour with a suitable charger that can be purchased separately. The US version can be charged wirelessly using the Qi standard .
Display
With a resolution of 1440 × 2560 px and a size of 5.4 inches, the display offers 540 ppi , is very bright with 500 cd / m 2 and beveled on the left and right edges like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge .
