Blake Weeks Brocker Meyer (* 11. April 1973 in Fort Worth , Texas ) is a former American American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He played as an offensive tackle for the Carolina Panthers, among others .

Player career

Blake Brockermeyer studied at the University of Texas at Austin , where he played American football for the Texas Longhorns . In 1994 and 1995 he and his team won the Southwest Conference . In 1995 he was voted All American for his athletic performance . In 1995, Brockermeyer was drafted 29th by the Carolina Panthers in the first round . He was able to establish himself as a starter in his rookie year in the team coached by Dom Capers and was responsible for protecting quarterback Kerry Collins . In 1996 the Panthers were able to move into the play-offs . They had to admit defeat to the Green Bay Packers with 30:13. After the 1998 season Brockermeyer moved to the Chicago Bears , who were also able to sign the center Olin Kreutz in the same year . With the team from Chicago in 2001 he made it into the play-offs. The team failed early at the Philadelphia Eagles with 33:19. Brockermeyer joined the Denver Broncos for two years after this season . The Denver team was able to sign Jake Plummer in 2003, and Brockermeyer was responsible for protecting them. He also had the task of blocking the way into the opposing end zone for running back Clinton Portis . After the regular season 2003 he managed for the third time to move into the finals with his team. The Broncos could not prevail against the Indianapolis Colts and lost with 10:41. Blake Brockermeyer, who had already suffered an injury during his season in Chicago, which severely impaired him, ended his career after the game.

After the career

Brockermeyer is married and has four children. He now works as a fitness trainer and coaches a high school team.
