Olin George Kreutz (born June 9, 1977 in Honolulu , Hawaii ) is an American former American football player on the position of the center . He played for the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL).

Player career

Kreutz was born in Honolulu, the youngest of four sons to his parents Henry and Laura Kreutz. He attended St. Louis High School in Honolulu, where he played American football. Kreutz was also an excellent athlete and wrestler. In the heavyweight division, he won the Hawaii State Championship. Kreutz studied after graduating from the University of Washington . 1997 could move his college team in the Aloha Bowl and defeat the Michigan State University team with 51:23. In 1998 he dropped out early and was selected in the NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears in the third round in 64th place. From the 1999 season , Kreutz was regularly used as a starter on the position of the center by his head coach Dick Jauron . In 2006 , the Bears managed to move into the Super Bowl under Head Coach Lovie Smith . However, this was lost with 29:17 against the Indianapolis Colts .

For the 2011 NFL season, Kreutz signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints . Kreutz only played three games, then dropped out with an injury. In October 2011, Kreutz then resigned and informed the Saints that he had lost his interest in football and would no longer play in the future.

Honors

Kreutz played six times in the Pro Bowl and was voted All-Pro twice .

Kreutz is married to his school friend and has four children.
