Brian Moorman (* 5. February 1976 in Wichita , Kansas ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the punters . He played for the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL).

High school and college

Moorman attended Sedgwick High School in Sedgwick , Kansas, where he has already received awards, including for his achievements in football and baseball . It was clear early on that he had an outstanding speed for punters, which enabled him to fake punts and run with the ball for a first-down (fake punt runs). This is an achievement that many other punters cannot achieve because the punter standing 12-15 yards from the line of scrimmage . After high school, Moorman attended Pittsburg State University .

Professional career

Moorman signed his first professional contract in 1999 with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent , which is not uncommon for punters, as they are usually only offered contracts after the NFL draft . At the Seahawks, however, he did not make it into the squad for the regular season . From 2000 he played with the Berlin Thunder in the NFL Europe before the Buffalo Bills signed him in the 2001 season.

During the 2008 season, Moorman punted 58 times, averaging a distance of 44.1 yards. 23 of his punts stayed within the opponent's 20 yard space. His longest punt of this season reached a length of 63 yards, his longest ever even 75 yards, which corresponds to 75% of the total field of play.

On September 25, 2012, Moorman was released from the Bills. After a season with the Dallas Cowboys , the Pittsburgh Steelers Moorman signed. There he was released before the beginning of the regular season. On October 6, 2013, Moorman returned to the Buffalo Bills. Before the start of the 2014 season, he was fired for the second time by the Bills.

As one of the best punters of his time, he was voted into the National Football League 2000s All-Decade Team . He was the only player on this team who was never on the field in a play-off game.
