Blau-Weiß Friedrichstadt is a sports club from Friedrichstadt in the district of North Friesland . The first soccer team took part once in the national DFB Cup .

history

The club was founded in 1952 as a spin-off from TSV 1865 Friedrichstadt . Between 1949 and 1955 and from 1964 and 1968, the team played in the district class North and 2nd amateur league North . The sporting boom began in the mid- 1970s . With 57: 3 points, Blau-Weiß was champion of the District League North in 1975 and, two years later, after a deciding win over TSV Travemünde, made it to the state league , at that time the highest division in the state.

The first four years in the Upper House of Schleswig-Holstein was blue-white in a relegation battle. The breakthrough came in the 1981/82 season. Unbeaten at home, the Friedrichstadters were eight points ahead of the BSC Brunsbüttel champions and moved into the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord . Despite a 4: 1 victory over the later promoted TuS Hessisch Oldendorf , it was only enough for third place. Two years later, thanks to the better goal difference against VfB Lübeck and VfR Neumünster , blue-white became runner-up and moved back into the promotion round. This time, however, only managed to win against Eintracht Nordhorn .

In the following season 1984/85, the Friedrichstadt rescued only by the better goal difference against TSV Pansdorf from relegation. A year later, the team won the SHFV Cup and qualified for the DFB Cup. There, blue-white defeated Hassia Bingen 1-0 in the first round and retired in the second round after a 2-1 defeat against SV Darmstadt 98 . More years followed in the mediocrity of the association league before the club withdrew the team in 1993 and dared to start over in the district league.

In 1999 the blue-whites qualified for the newly created regional league north , from which they were relegated in 2003. Five years later, the team missed the newly created association league and entered the Nordfriesland district league , from which they were relegated in 2013. In 2014 the rise was successful; since then, BWF has formed a syndicate with the neighboring TSV Seeth / Drage .
