Blu gear (full title: Blu transition vissero per semper felici e ammazzati ) is a spaghetti westerns of the late phase of the genre , which is characterized by an unusual form. Luigi Bazzoni's film was not shown in German-speaking countries.
action
The Blue brothers - Cane, Johnny and Frank - try to secure the free and independent lives they lead through rip-offs of small and large kinds. This life also includes unsettled relationships with the girls they meet. After a major robbery of money, they are put in jail by the silent army officer Hillman, from which they are able to escape with the help of a little girl. Moving from place to place, the brothers only concern themselves with today. Hillman grabs one at a time.
criticism
“ Butch Cassidy is obviously the model, and a Brechtian ballad has also been given the form of a film: In English with subtitles it is explained to us that the brothers only became bandits as a reaction to the arrogance of capitalism. (...) The ingenuity of the images and the spontaneous wit of the script stand in contrast to the many scenes of absolute everyday occurrence and the crude choice of words that are presented to us. "
Remarks
- Jack Palance, who plays Hillman, has only two short sentences to speak throughout the film.
- The soundtrack was awarded the Nastro d'Argento for best film music in 1974. The song Go Man is interpreted by Marva Jan Marrow .
