Roberto Perpignani

Roberto Perpignani (born April 20, 1941 in Rome ) is an Italian film editor .

Perpignani began his film career in 1962 (after beginnings as a painter and studies of child psychology ) as an assistant editor at The Trial of Orson Welles . His debut as a film editor came in 1964 with Bernardo Bertolucci's Before the Revolution . More than 90 productions in the field of film editing followed , which testify to its position as one of the most respected editors in Italy. Since the 1970s he has worked frequently with the directors Paolo and Vittorio Taviani . His work for Giro di lune tra terra e mare was technically interesting, as it combined different formats into a kind of mosaic with the aid of computers.

Perpignani has been teaching film editing for the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia at the Sucola nazionale di cinema since 1976 . He is also President of the “Federazione italiana delle associazioni delle professioni del cinema e dell'audiovisivo”, FIDAC .

He won the David di Donatello , the most important Italian film award , three times . He also received a nomination for the European Film Prize 2012 .

At the 2007 Venice Film Festival , Perpignani was on the jury.
