Guido Lollobrigida

Guido Lollobrigida (born September 4, 1928 in Rome ; † 2013 ibid) was an Italian racing driver and actor .

Life

Lollobrigida, the cousin of actress Gina Lollobrigida , graduated as a technical specialist and was a professional, successful racing driver for about ten years. In 1959 he took part in the Venezuela Grand Prix in a Ferrari 500 Mondial Spyder. In 1960 Lollobrigida went to the United States and drove all major races there, for example in Daytona 1962 in a Maserati , in Nassau and on other tracks.

Back in his native country, he began a career as a character actor in film. As early as 1957 he had played in a film by Massimo Dallamano , Tre emigranti e una ragazza , made in South America ; now he was seen in many genre films, especially spaghetti westerns , as the unscrupulous henchman of villains, sleazy businessman or soldier in many genre films until the end of the 1970s . He often played under the director Alberto De Martino , almost always under the pseudonym Lee Burton .
